World’s biggest heavy metal cruise sets sail January 14-18 from Miami with Arch Enemy, Exodus, HammerFall, Rhapsody Final Shows and 26 more bands confirmed
70000 Tons of Metal, the world’s biggest heavy metal cruise, has announced public sales for its 2027 sailing alongside the first half of its lineup. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM EDT / 18:00 CET.
The 2027 edition will sail from Miami, Florida to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and back from January 14-18, 2027 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. Only 3,000 tickets are available to metalheads from around the globe, continuing the festival’s legacy of cultivating a tight-knit global metal community it calls the “United Nations of Heavy Metal at Sea.”
The currently announced lineup features 30 of the 60 total bands who will take the stage: ‘Abigail Williams’, ‘Æther Realm’, ‘Arch Enemy’, ‘Avaland’, ‘Battlelore’, ‘Brainstorm’, ‘Brymir’, ‘Die Apokalyptischen Reiter’, ‘Enforcer’, ‘Equilibrium’, ‘Evergrey’, ‘Exmortus’, ‘Exodus’, ‘Famous Strangers’, ‘HammerFall’, ‘Melechesh’, ‘Moonspell’, ‘Mors Principium Est’, ‘Naglfar’, ‘Obscura’, ‘Origin’, ‘Primal Fear’, ‘Rhapsody’ Final Shows, ‘Sinister’, ‘Talia Hoit’, ‘Thulcandra’, ‘Uli Jon Roth’, ‘Warbringer’, ‘Wolfheart’, and ‘Ye Banished Privateers’. Thirty more bands are still to be announced.
Among the highlights of the 2027 edition, Finnish winter metal band ‘Wolfheart’ will deliver a world live premiere of their upcoming album during the cruise, with footage from the performance set to be included in an upcoming music video. Frontman Tuomas Saukkonen expressed his excitement:
“It is an absolute honor to step on the deck of the mighty 70000 Tons of Metal for the 3rd time, on one of the most majestic metal events in this universe. This time we are bringing something special with us: the world live premiere of our forthcoming album!!!”

All 60 bands onboard play twice across four concert venues: the Royal Theater concert hall spanning five levels, the intimate Star Lounge, the arena-like Studio B, and the Pool Deck Stage, described as the world’s biggest open air stage structure to ever sail the open seas, complete with integrated bars, pools, and hot tubs. Every ticket includes meet and greets with each band, intimate masterclasses with select musicians, world live premieres, exclusive listening sessions of unreleased material, and special artist events, with no VIP areas separating fans from the bands.
Additional highlights include the “Jamming in International Waters” All Star Jam featuring musical virtuosos performing classic metal songs together, and Artist Escorted Shore Excursions allowing guests to explore Puerto Plata alongside their favorite band members.
