‘Iron Maiden’ have announced a surprise return to North America in spring 2027, confirming a third and final leg of their celebrated “Run For Your Lives” tour. Live Nation announced 16 new shows kicking off April 14 in Tacoma, Washington, covering regions missed during the recently concluded North American leg of their 50th Anniversary tour, with the run concluding at two festival headline performances at Sonic Temple in Columbus and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland.
The band had previously signalled plans to take a break from live performances in 2027, but bassist ‘Steve Harris’ explained what changed:
“As many of our fans know, Maiden were planning on taking a break from live performances in 2027, but we’ve been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed, particularly the North West and South East. It just seems fair to our many fans there who have given us tremendous support for so many years. We can’t get everywhere but we can try! Also, we have always enjoyed playing the many great festivals that are in Europe and wanted to experience a couple more in the USA which we will do at the end of the tour in Columbus and Maryland. At festivals you are not just playing to your own fans so it’s always a challenge and we all love a challenge!”
Manager ‘Rod Smallwood’ added:
“The first leg was terrific, huge sell-out crowds of all ages spanning multi-generations, some of the biggest shows we have ever played in North America with rave fan and media reactions, and just a great all round vibe and camaraderie from our fans, including in our Eddie’s Dive Bars everywhere. It is amazing that even after all these years we played to many more people per show than ever before and headlined our first stadium shows in the USA. We have been selling out arenas in all parts of North America since 1983, and the band’s following here continues to grow despite an almost total lack of mainstream radio support and never even having a track reach the Billboard Hot 100! For that we have to thank our amazing fans, and it proves that word of mouth still means a lot. We look forward to seeing you all again next Spring.”
These shows will be the definitive last dates of the “Run For Your Lives” tour, which by the time it concludes will have played 107 shows to well over 3 million fans across 36 countries. ‘Iron Maiden’, a 2026 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, will bring their full dramatic production to every show, with a setlist drawn from the career-defining early decades that has generated rave reviews throughout the current tour.
The all-British support bill features ‘Bullet for My Valentine’, whose new album “Social Apocalypse” is due March 19, 2027 and who will be making their first highly anticipated North American shows since their co-headline run with ‘Trivium’ in early 2025, alongside ‘The Raven Age’, who recently supported ‘Maiden’ on several South and Central American dates. It marks the first time since 1983 that ‘Iron Maiden’ have assembled a three-band all-British touring lineup.
The Eddie’s Dive Bars fan experience will also make the return trip across the Atlantic, a fan-favourite element of the current tour that ‘Smallwood’ himself attends at every stop.
